A.N.T.S
relay system is based on the courier system. We relay supplies in
five gallon buckets, called pods, from one person to the next all the way
to the member that needs them.
Post riders did the same thing by collected and delivering mail over the course of their
route, meeting with other riders at scheduled times and scheduled places
to exchange forwarded items.
In ancient times runners and homing pigeons and riders on horseback were used to deliver timely messages. Before there were mechanized courier services foot messengers physically ran miles to their destinations. To this day there are marathons directly related to actual historical messenger routes.
How to use a courier system in a disaster
A.N.T.S courier system can be used to relay supplies and messages.
Donor ants do this by following the level 1 guidelines and transporting these supplies and messages from the furthest donor ant to a McDonald's or
other restaurant located near the second donor and so on, all the way
to the camp ant. The last donor ant will drop off the supplies and go
back home.
The camp or trail ants will then take them to the receiving ants.
