A.N.T.S

 Membership
All members are called "ants"

To become a member, follow these steps:

1. Click here and create a Google map account. You can use any e-mail address. If you are using Gmail, you already have an account and can move on to step two.

2. Send a membership request from your Gmail address or the e-mail address you used to create the Google map account to: americansnetworkingtosurvive@gmail.com

3. Within 24 hours, you will receive two replies with more information, one from the A.N.T.S group and one from the A.N.T.S location map.

The group is used to place disaster alerts and make supply request.

The map is used to mark your general location and to create supply routes.

You will be able to join the group and add your icon after you receive the replies.

After you receive you map reply:

You can choose to place your icon in one of three ways:

1. Place your icon on your street: If you use this method and you are caught in a disaster and cannot contact the group, nearby members will search for you by looking on your street for your distress marker.

2. Place your icon on any intersection in your city/town: This method allows you to be completely private. If you use this method and you are caught in a disaster, and cannot contact the group,  nearby members will search for you by looking for a stone marker that you will place at that intersection. They will then use the information on it to search for you.

3. Place no icon at this time : If you choose not to add a icon at this time, you will still need to put one at a nearby Mcdonald's location if you want to volunteer during a disaster. It is the only way we can create a supply route. You can remove it after the route map has been created.

Also: The only thing that you are required to do as an A.N.T.S member is change the color of your icon every six months when you receive the icon test alert.

The current icon color is blue and the next icon test alert will be sent out on June 15th 2012.
